This case mod started out with an Aopen LX-45 case SYS specs were Athlon T'bird 900MHz with a SuperORB heatsink/fan on a Epox 8KTA2 motherboard 384MB PC133 SDRAM 20GB IBM HDD + 2GB Maxtor Drive 16x Pioneer DVD 8x4x32x LG CD-RW Creative Ensoniq Sound Hercules Geforce 256 32mb VID Netgear FA311 NIC |
I cut the side panel with tin snips, didnt do a bad job either =) |
I added a perspex window in the hole with rubber around it but theres no pic (lost
in a huge HDD crash) also added rounded cables and a red neon light |
And I added a fairly major mod,...half a mini tower case to the top for added drive
space its also very stable and doesnt warp or bend, you can use the crossbar
im the middle as a handle |
Hadware update: My new Hercules 3D Prophet II Titanium 64 arived a little while ago, for a Geforce 2 this card has spectacular graphics. Unfortunatly Cougar have replaced my HDD with another 20gb drive without consulting me first, I was going to upgrade at the same time, on the plus side they replaced it with a 7200rpm model so that makes up for it a bit. I have installed my new motherboard, a Epox EP-8KHA+ i also got new 256Mb King-Max 333MHz ram and a nice new Thermaltake Volcano 7 HS/F, after unlocking my athlon 900 my system is now back up and running at a solid 1.2GHz 39degC |
